Yesterday I was looking at some images I had taken a while back. Then I noticed an image or two of the wedding of Trine and Jonatan. The images immediately took me back to when I took them. The story in short: Trine and Jonatan had seen some of my work through a friend of theirs who got married, it resonated with them. Over the email we came to the agreement I would shoot their wedding in Stord which is on the west coast of Norway. Stord is beautiful. Thorbjørn, a dear friend of the family, was super helpful and drove me round. Thorbjørn is a cool outdoor guy and could point out all the best spots in the area.

The weather was not great in the days leading up to the wedding, but it did not spoil the experience. Pleased to say that the weather on the day of the wedding was bright, hot and sunny! I was so grateful to be there. All the friends/family of Trine and Jonatan are warm hearted people and to this day I occasionally chat over Facebook messenger with a handful of people I met there.

So, to wrap it up, I think I should re-share some of their images. Trine, Jonatan and all the friends and family, thank you (again). Thank you for the unforgettable experience. See you soon!

Shoot John Lewis and Waitrose

Waitrose/John Lewis commissioned me to shoot for their ´Meet the producers´ series in Seville. Seville is about 5-6 hours drive from Orihuela Costa so I gathered my studio strobes, power pack, cameras and lenses and decided to take a nice relaxing drive down there.

The producer this time was Huerta Ave Maria. Upon arrival I was welcomed by the owners, a husband and wife team. After the shoot I was so lucky to have a table set with fresh bread, plenty or Ave Maria marmelade (made with their bitter oranges) and fresh orange juice (made with their sweet navelinas).

They were so nice in explaining about the manufacturing process, everything that goes into maintaining the orange trees and soil and how they manage to produce 100% ecological.

So much love goes into their business, environment and produce, you can taste it!

Barista Michael Garcia Santos is a guy that has worked at Rebate for many years. When you visit Rebate, he always has time to have a chat and a joke and make you feel very welcome whether you are visiting Rebate for the first time or whether you are a regular. He has a passion for coffee and making the best coffee possible. Today I wanted to capture a few shots of Michael at work.

The big day of Suzanne and Omar in Rebate started with bridal prep shots in Balsicas, in the Murcia region. When I walked in Charlie Smith was doing the hair and makeup. Perfect timing to grab some of these prep shots! Charlie did a fab job for Suzanne.

After the prep shots I quickly hopped in the car to drive to the venue, Rebate for a 5p, service.

As soon as I got to Rebate, the guests started arriving. The team at Rebate had organised coaches to collect all the guests at their hotel and the coaches would also take them back at the end of the evening.

Suzanne arrived in the wedding car,..just in time for the ceremony (even though the weddings held at Rebate always run on time, the bride is allowed to be fashionably late).

The service was conducted by Eddie Martens, Rebates house reverend. As usual his jokes and anecdotes were received well by al the wedding guests. I have said it once and I will say it again, Eddie should have been a standup comedian! His services are really something.

The ceremony lasted approximately 30 minutes. After that Omar and Suzanne signed the wedding certificate and walked out to their favourite music. Once outside all the guest had confetti ready for the confetti shot.

Right after the ceremony I do not go into formal shots. First things first: a nice cool drink! Their guests only have 1,5 hour to relax, have a drink, a nibble, a chat and enjoy the surroundings. I always try and keep the formal shots to a minimum unless the couple want more. In general the formal shots don´t last longer than 15-25 mins.

While the guest are being moved to the dining area, I grab a quick 15 mins with the bride and groom to take some photos of the two of them. Without the guests present I have noticed that the bride and groom are more comfortable when a camera is pointed at them. Most couples tell me that they are terrible on camera and that they don´t do posed shots. I always tell them the truth: they will be absolutely fine. They are in good hands – I have done ´a couple´ of weddings you know? Any directions will be giving and the resulting images are always great.

After their bride and groom shots we made our way to the dining area. In this case, Suzanne and Omar chose to have their wedding meal outdoors. Nothing nicer for your guests than to be able to dine outside in Spain! Before the starters came out Omar, father of the bride and the best man gave a short speech.

The bride, groom and their guests had a fantastic day at Rebate!

Recently I had the pleasure of meeting a CEO of one of Europe´s largest sunglasses importers. In Spain their sunglasses land on the shelves of Zara, Alcampo, Ale-Hop, etc. We sat down and talked about shooting their collection for the summer of 2017.

Over a 3 day period we shot over 135 different models of sunglasses on 3 different locations. We worked with 4 models, an art director and product manager.
