Alicante wedding – the most romantic destination
Many brides consider Spain as one of the most romantic places on earth to get married. Maybe you are considering a wedding in Alicante or thinking about having your wedding in the Torrevieja area? Follow along here and you might get some useful ideas about having a destination wedding here.
Great weather and very affordable food and drink is a huge advantage of a wedding in Spain. The scenery and backdrops are equally impressive. With many stunning areas, you can see why couples choose the breathtaking backdrop of Spain as their wedding destination. In this regard, Torrevieja and Orihuela Costa, just South of Alicante, are great as wedding ceremony locations. With a beautiful coastline, sandy beaches and promenades running parallel to the beaches, it’s perfect for a wedding and your guests.
There are plenty of hotels, panoramic beachfront venues and resorts here. They are complete with rooftop views overlooking the ocean. They also offer wedding services (like wedding coordinator/wedding planner, officiants, wedding cake, assistance with planning process, wedding photos). Most venues offer all inclusive wedding packages. For example the La Zenia hotel in La Zenia, Hotel Meridional in Guardamar or Restaurante Rebate in Campoverde have packages.
Choose the best romantic destination in Alicante
When it comes to wedding destinations, Alicante spoils you with choice. Yes, there are so many options here. You get to choose between stunning cities like Torrevieja and Orihuela. You will find resorts like Punta Prima restaurant (blog post), Orihuela Coast Resort and Montepiedra Hotel which are excellent wedding venues. With their views of the coast, and affordable services, you can choose any of these as your romantic wedding venue.
The choice of wedding reception and wedding locations is endless. Ever thought of having a unique wedding on the water front with ocean views? More to come about a little gem we are working on (the website will be launched soon!). Or imagine walking down the aisle and seeing your groom waiting to get married in a little white chapel? Your wedding day will seem like a one of a kind fairytale. In my honest opinion this is absolutely possible in one of the best wedding venues of the Costa Blanca: Rebate, click here to have a look at an all inclusive wedding package.
Wedding prep at Montepiedra Hotel – Campoamor – Alicante
Soak in the Mediterranean climate and enjoy the beautiful sceneries. You can tie the knot in an outdoor wedding in the hotel gardens or on the beach front. Of course, I’ll be there to capture all the great moments of your day.

Alicante is also home to a mansion or vineyard or two that work with a range wedding vendors. The venues are suitable for a beautiful wedding that breathes elegance that can be a perfect indoor and outdoor setting for you and your wedding party.
Churches in Alicante
Alicante is also home to some of the oldest churches of the region. These catholic churches regularly hold foreign weddings. An overview of some (catholic) churches in the Torrevieja – Alicante area are:

With plenty of wedding planners and fantastic locations, your wedding will be no less than a fairy tale. Enjoy a Spanish holiday along with your wedding guests and ring the wedding bell in the romantic setting of the perfect backdrop of Spain.
wedding prep Orihuela Costa
I work with some of the best wedding venues of Alicante and Murcia. Do you want a cheap wedding, do you want a traditional wedding, do you want a lavish wedding, do you want a wedding ceremony with stunning views, do you want a small and intimate wedding or are you just looking for an affordable wedding were walking down the aisle to your groom to exchange vows in front of all the people that are important to you? Spain has it all, no joke.
And it does not end there because Spain also has countless honeymoon possibilities for newlyweds but more about that in a different blogpost. Leave a comment below if you are interested in that and I will share some ideas about that on my blog.
And last but not least the wedding photography. Getting married is a special event that just begs for the service of a professional photographer. Don’t fall for the trap of thinking that your ‘ free’ uncle John with an expensive camera will be there to have you photographed as make your entrance, when you walk down the aisle in your carefully chosen wedding dress, take your vows, cut the wedding cake, pose with the bridesmaids and bridal party or do the first dance with your hubby. Not to make it more than it is, it is not a stress free job for the untrained and unconditioned hobbyist with a great camera. Things move fast and there is no second take. Maybe you think a family member ‘knows you best’ but there isn’t anything that a dialog between you and me can’t clear up before we start to plan the wedding shoot.
I have had the honour to have worked with hundreds of paying clients, brides and grooms at real weddings these past 25 years. I help and I direct where needed, that is what us photographers do. With me you will be in safe and very capable hands – no matter what the conditions are or what the situation is.
So, after the wedding day when all guests have gone home and all the cava is finished you have one more thing to look forward to and that is the wedding photo gallery. You can enjoy and relive all the warm memories of your Spanish wedding for years to come.
Conclusion having your wedding in the torrevieja area
Spain is a great country for a destination wedding. Less than 2,5 hours flight from London to Alicante, the many days of sun. There is very affordable food and drink, lots of accommodation possibilities and Catholic churches for a catholic wedding. Venues that have a wow factor and beautiful backdrops. The area of Alicante has endless types of venue for you to choose from in a variety of budgets and the language does not have to be a barrier (most event managers speak English). You really cannot go wrong with a wedding in Spain or having your wedding in the Torrevieja area. Have a look at the portfolio to get an idea of what a destination wedding can look like.
